Homemade Syrup To Get Rid Of Cough And Sore Throat

This is the recipe for a 100% natural cough syrup with orange flavor, prepared at home, with the help of some natural ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. You can make this syrup in less than 30 minutes, and you will benefit of vitamin C, found in oranges, and from the delicious taste of coconut oil and cinnamon antioxidants. To get over the cold season it’s better to prevent several diseases instead of getting rid of them.


– 1 medium orange, cut into small pieces
– 1 lemon cut into small pieces
– 1 medium piece of ginger, minced
– 2 teaspoons of peppercorns
– 1 cinnamon stick
– 2 tablespoons of water
– 2 tablespoons of organic coconut oil
– 1 cup of organic honey

Put the first 6 ingredients in a pot and place it on the stove at medium heat. Pass the composition with a wooden spoon to help the natural juices to come out of orange and lemon, and to crush the pepper and cinnamon stick easily. Cover the pot, and leave it at medium heat for about 5 minutes.

Mix the coconut oil and honey, and put these ingredients over the rest of the ingredients, and leave them on the stove to melt completely for another 5-8 minutes. Take the pot off the stove and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes. Strain the mixture, and use it every time you face with a sore throat or coughing.

It is recommended to take 1-2 teaspoons.
